Former Real Madrid player Alvaro Arbeloa, who is now an ambassador of the club, talked to OK Diario this Sunday and praised Zinedine Zidane and the whole squad for their recent performances.

“We’re seeing a very good Real Madrid team. They did a very good job in the Supercup and kept their good form from the last few months. The team concluded 2019 playing quality football and we won in Saudi Arabia without Bale, Hazard and Bale. Zidane and the squad deserve credit for that,” says the former defender.

Arbeloa was also asked about a potential career as a coach in the future.

“Right now I’m very happy with my job in Real Madrid although maybe this year I will get my license to coach. Maybe I will, because you never know what can happen in the future and you have to be ready and prepared for everything, but right now I’m happy and I feel fulfilled with my current job,” he explained.

Real Madrid’s fan base is still growing and Arbeloa felt as much during his recent trip to Saudi Arabia for the Supercup.

“You feel and perceive the love and support Real Madrid gets from its fans. We’re so strong in other countries and I never get used to Real’s greatness. Now that I am seeing it from the other side I’m able to notice what this club is capable of. They all know you and they greet you with a smile. You never get used to that,” said Arbeloa, who also explained the upcoming Corazon Classic Match against Porto FC.

“We’re all so proud of the work of Real Madrid’s Foundation in Spain but also worlwide, in more than 80 countries and helping more than 100,000 people. The fans will enjoy a great game with legends like Kaka, Roberto Carlos, Morientes or Deco playing,” concluded Arbeloa.
