James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale completed Monday’s training session with the rest of the squad after coach Zinedine Zidane said last Saturday that they didn’t make the squad list because they were “a bit banged up.”
James and Bale should be available for Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey match against Unionistas de Salamanca. Zidane will be expected to make many rotations in that game, even though it’s just a single-elimination match. Madrid will have to take that game very seriously but clearly James Rodriguez and Bale have the quality needed to clinch their presence in the next round of the competition, even if they’re not relevant players in the current rotation.
Hazard and Asensio did some running on the field and appear to be closer to making their return to the team.
Real Madrid will publish their squad list for Wednesday’s match tomorrow, after Zidane talks to the media post training.
