Both deals have been completed - Marc Gual will be loaned to Castilla for the rest of the season from Sevilla FC while Ivan Morente is expected to sign a 3 year deal, keeping him at the club until 2023.
Marc Gual is a striker who was on loan at Girona for the first half of the season in the Segunda division. In the season prior he played for Real Zaragoza on loan, again in the second division. Gual was a hot prospect in 2016/2017 after scoring 14 goals in 24 games for Sevilla Atletico. Since that season, he has played 72 matches and only scored 11 goals — finding it difficult to regain his best form at the higher professional levels. The now 23-year-old is a much needed reinforcement after the long term injuries sustained to Castilla forwards Pedro Ruiz and Rodrigo.
Arguably, the more exciting signing of the two, is Ivan Morante. The 19-year-old is expected to alternate between Juvenil A and Castilla. Morante is a deep-lying ball playing defensive midfielder and has drawn parallels to Bruno Soriano (Villareal) and Rodrigo (Manchester City) from AS journalist Sergio Santos. The youngster has been a fixture for Spain at the youth levels and has captained many of the youth national teams. The fee has not yet been disclosed, but Madrid have reportedly paid peanuts once again for a player that could turn out to be Real Madrid quality.
