Real Madrid face off against Valencia in the Semifinal of the 2020 Spanish Supercup. The Spanish Football Federation decided to host this tournament in Saudi Arabia, so both teams will play in unfamiliar territory.
Los Blancos will be without Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, who stayed in Madrid recovering from small physical problems. Benzema is the team’s undisputed leading scorer, so it will be tough for Zidane’s men to find their scoring groove against a very disciplined Valencia team.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Carvajal, Militao, Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Jovic.
Valencia predicted XI: Cillessen; Piccini, Garay, Paulista, Gayá; Torres, Parejo, Coquelin, Soler; Rodrigo, Maxi.
Luka Jovic will be expected to start in Benzema’s spot in what will be a perfect opportunity for him to prove his worth after a tough first half of the season where he’s lacked relevant and consistent minutes. Vinicius and Rodrygo seem set to start through the flanks, but players like Isco or even James Rodriguez could also feature.
