Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale will stay in the club past this winter transfer window, his agent Jonathan Barnett told ESPN FC.
“Bale is going nowhere this winter,” said Barnett. When asked about whether a move could happen next summer, he added that it is “very unlikely.”
Gareth Bale was rumored to be on his way out of Real Madrid all summer long but ended up staying in the club, even though even coach Zinedine Zidane admitted that his departure was somewhat imminent.
The Welshman has been getting consistent minutes so far this season but he hasn’t made a big impact when given the chance and was also involved in a big controversy when he celebrated Wales’ qualification to the 2020 Euro with a “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order” banner.
A move away from the Bernabeu this winter is indeed very unlikely as Zidane is not a fan of mid-season signings, but his departure from the Spanish capital next summer shouldn’t be ruled out if the French coach remains at the club after this season, which seems all but certain.
