The Champions League draw will take place today, October 1st, at 5pm CEST at the RTS Studios in Geneva.
Here are some quick things for you to know:
- Real Madrid are in Pot 1 as La Liga champions
- The group stages will begin on October 20th, and conclude on December 9th
- The Champions League final will take place on May 29th, 2021, in Istanbul
- Real Madrid can not be drawn with any other team from La Liga in the group stages
- Real Madrid can not be drawn with any other team from Pot 1 in the group stages
Here are the pots:
Pot 1: Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Sevilla, Liverpool, Juventus, PSG, Zenit and Porto.
Pot 2: Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Ajax.
Pot 3: Dynamo Kiev, Salzburg, Leipzig, Inter Milan, Olympiacos, Lazio, Krasnodar and Atalanta.
Pot 4: Lokomotiv Moscow, Olympique Marseille, Brugge, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Istanbul Başakşehir, Midtylland, Rennes and Ferencváros.
Odds are Real Madrid will draw at least one difficult opponent from Pot 2, while hoping to avoid another in the form of Leipzig, Inter, or Atalanta from Pot 3.
