Real Madrid have drawn Shakhtar Donestk, Inter Milan and Borussia Monchengladbach in the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League Group Stage. Madrid were lucky to avoid any of the top European teams in the first pot but it’s also true that Inter were quite possibly the best team in the third pot. Still, this is a very solid draw for Los Blancos, who should be the favorites to win their group and therefore be one of the seeded teams in the Round of 16.

Shakhtar will be a tough team to beat away from Madrid, but they aren’t the quality team they were years ago either. Antonio Conte’s Inter will be an intriguing challenge and Madrid should expect academy product Achraf Hakimi to come out firing on all cylinders and trying to prove his worth.

The two games against Gladbach could very well decide the outcome of the group, given that both Inter and Madrid should be expected to get two wins in those matches but the German side have the quality to cause some issues to both Madrid and Inter.
