Another issue of the Daily Merengue!

Real Madrid

Hola Madridistas!

The Open Thread/Daily Merengue is a place where you can discuss anything and everything related to football. Feel free to discuss the topics presented here, or start your very own discussions! The Open thread will be posted every day by one of the mods: Valyrian Steel, Felipejack or Oscnar.

Casemiro and Rodrygo feature against Bolivia

Casemiro featured for the full 90 minutes (as he always does) in Brazils 5-0 thumping over Bolivia. Rodrygo on the other hand, was subbed on after an hour of play, with Brazil leading 3-0 at that point. Brazil coach has been raving about how great of a talent Rodrygo is, and it is nice to see him follow up on his words and give Rodrygo minutes in the national team.

Las Blancas continue their season tomorrow

The women’s team will play their second game of the season tomorrow (Sunday) at noon against Valencia. The team is looking for their first win, after the loss against Barcelona in the first game of the season.

Camavinga attracting suitors

A potential deal for the French youngsters seems to become more complicated by the day. Reports have surfaced that both PSG and Juventus are increasingly more interested in signing the Frenchman, and it looks like Real will have a lot of competition next summer. Time will tell if Reals long term plan for his signature will pay off, and if it will be a case of “first come first serve”.

Rotation, rotation, rotation

Zinedine Zidane has used 23 players so far in four games. (21 from the first team and two from Castilla). The fact is that the only players without minutes so far are the injured Militao, Hazard and Mariano and the backup goalkeeper Lunin. It will be interesting to see if Zidane keeps on making these heavy rotations in the coming games this season, or if it is more testing the waters early on.
