Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has become an important player not only for his club but also for his national team. Valverde was one of Uruguay’s most notable performers during Uruguay’s 2-1 win against Chile and talked to the press after the game.
“I still have a lot to improve, to learn, to grow. If we compare previous years, I feel much better, more trained on a footballing and personal level. But I am very young and I have a lot to learn,” said Valverde about his current form and status.
It won’t be easy for Fede to be an undisputed starter this season when all Casemiro, Modric and Kroos are available. However, it’s clear that he could cement his place as the first midfielder behind those three when coach Zidane decides to change his formation or make some substitutions during the games.
Valverde is still 22 years old, so it will be interesting to see if he has what it takes to make significant improvements to his game and take it to the next level in the upcoming years.
