Highlights: Valencia Femenino 1 - 1 Real Madrid Femenino

Watch Real Madrid Femenino score their first ever goal.

Though we couldn’t watch the game, Valencia took the liberty of posting some brief highlights on their YouTube page so that we could get a glimpse of what the match was like. Kosovare Asllani headed home Real Madrid Femenino’s first ever goal (if you don’t count CD Tacón last season) in the 22nd minute, thanks to a perfectly placed cross from right back Kenti Robles.

Moments later, defender Cristina Cubedo Pitarch volleyed the equalizer from a corner kick. The marking was poor and it seems like there might have been a deflection on the strike considering that Misa was moving away from where the ball eventually landed. There are no replays, though, so that’s just my best guess.

Based on the rest of the highlights, it seems that both teams created a fair amount of danger. Real Madrid pressured a Valencia player into striking their own post, while Misa remained active as a sweeper keeper, even being forced to make a save with her torso several yards outside her own box.
