Today marked the last training session before tomorrow’s match against Cadiz at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano (6:30 pm CEST). Zinedine Zidane had all of his international players officially back to club duty, and spent today’s session focusing on what lies ahead tomorrow. Zidane also addressed questions afterwards to the press about Jovic, Cadiz and more, which Euan McTear covered here.

Today’s session began with ball-based warm up drills which eventually moved into physical work, ball control, and pressing exercises. The session concluded with scrimmages on reduced-sized pitches.

Player updates

As they continued their recovery processes, Eden Hazard, Dani Carvajal, Alvaro Odriozola, and Mariano Diaz all worked out indoors.

It’s safe to expect some rotations for tomorrow’s match. As Zidane stated in today’s presser, some of his players on international duty went non-stop during the international break. Luka Modric may get a rest, and it’s pretty safe to say Marcelo, Isco, Vinicius, Benzema all get a start — although who knows. At right-back, we’ll likely see either Nacho, Lucas Vazquez, or even an outside shot at Ferland Mendy.
