Another history historic day for Real Madrid Femenino as they record their first ever victory with a 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano Femenino. Las Blancas were on top the entire match could have easily won by six or seven goals.
Player Ratings
Misa (#1) - 7: Didn’t have too much to do today as the defense handled most threats from Rayo. She had a bad misplaced pass, though, which could have been a costly mistake. She ended up making for the error by pulling off a save right after. But, overall, unfortunate not to get the clean sheet.
Kenti Robles (#2) - 8: Quick along the wing again and linked up well with Jakobsson (watch out for this new dynamic duo). Always looked to get the ball rolling and penetrate space. Beautiful work for Asllani’s goal.
Ivana (#15) - 7.5: Solid game from the captain. Put an early header in the back of the net but it was (softly) ruled out. Very active in the box on corners, too. Played a high line at times with Peter and looked comfortable. No concerns.
Babett Peter (#4) - 7: A decent night from the center back. Little concerns in the first half but was caught out of position for Rayo’s goal in the second. Good free-kick attempt at the end of the game.
Marta Corredera (#17) - 7.5: Very versatile on the pitch tonight, tracking back to fulfill her defensive duties (racking up interceptions) but also found empty lanes into the opponent’s box. Was involved in most of the action down the left wing.
Kaci (#6) - 7: Decent performance today. Was a little heated in the box, knocking down a player and earning a yellow. Has to be cautious for most of the match but was very physical against her opponents.
Maite Oroz (#8) - 8: Player of the game today. Controlled the game playing as the team’s metronome. Was all over the pitch defensively and offensively and could get the ball rolling when movement was stale. Scored a great volley just before the half to break the deadlock.
Marta Cardona (#11) - 7.5: Great work down the left wing but didn’t limit herself to one side of the pitch and was active throughout the middle, as well. Played well with Maite Oroz and Corredera. Subbed off after 88 mins.
Kosovare Asllani (#9) - 7.5: Looked to get down to business early and had three shots go over the bar before finally netting one for herself. Great header to finish off a beautiful play. Replaced after 62 mins.
Sofia Jakobsson (#10) - 8: Great crossing into the box and earned a couple corners. Had a shot deflected wide and managed few more good attempts. Assisted Jessica’s goal. Workhorse performance from the Swede. Subbed off after 81 mins.
J. Martínez (#21) - 7.5: Tested the Rayo keeper constantly and was very active in the box. Put the ball in the back of the net (nutmegging the keeper) in the early minutes but was ruled offside. Scored the team’s third goal and could have easily had two or three.
Substitutes
Teresa (#16) - 6: Handed 30 minutes of playing time after coming on for Asllani. Tried to get in on the action but couldn’t get anything out of it. Booked just moments after coming on.
Lorena (#12) - 6: Came on for Jakobsson after 81 minutes and brought fresh legs to the game but also couldn’t execute anything too noteworthy.
Chi Ubogagu (#18) - N/A: On in the 88th minute for Cardona. Not enough time to get make important contributions but had good energy, earned corners, and ran at defenders in the dying minutes of the game.
