Real Madrid have published a medical report about Dani Carvajal, who has suffered a MCL injury during today’s training session.

Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his medial collateral ligament in his right knee. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

As always, Real Madrid refuse to reveal the extent of this injury, but a report from COPE’s Arancha Rodriguez indicates that the defender will be out for around two months, meaning that he will almost miss the first half of the season, assuming he will also need some time to improve his conditioning after he recovers.

This is devastating news for Real Madrid as Carvajal was clearly the undisputed starter for the right-back spot. Now, Odriozola is set to get major minutes in that position, with Militao and Nacho competing to be his replacement.

It’s time for Odriozola to prove his worth.
