Soccer - UEFA Champions League - Group A - Real Madrid v Shakhtar Donetsk - Estadio Santiago Bernabeu left

Real Madrid host Shakhtar Donetsk in desperate need of finding some kind of groove and momentum ahead of Saturday’s El Clasico against Barcelona. Los Blancos were shockingly defeated by Cadiz last weekend and it’s now time for coach Zinedine Zidane and his players to make a statement and prove that they’re better than the performance they completed.

Shakthar are a quality team but they have a thin squad for this game, so Madrid simply have to take care of business tonight. Home games in this Group Stage will be crucial, given that all Shakhtar, Inter Milan and Gladbach will be very tough to beat at their own stadiums.

Los Blancos will be without captain and leader Sergio Ramos, so other players will need to step up to provide the kind of leadership that will be missed without the Spanish center-back. Can Real Madrid finally complete a convincing offensive performance this season?
