Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro scored the crucial equalizer during last night’s clash against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League Group Stage and was visibly optimistic while addressing the media, even though Madrid needed an epic comeback to score a point.
“We controlled the game, they reached our box twice and scored two goals, but I think we played good football. We fought until the very end and we are on the right path. They have quality too and we know that every opponent in the Champions League is very tough to beat,” said the midfielder.
Casemiro was asked about the performance from the team. While Madrid dominated until Gladbach scored their opening goal, they struggled in the final third.
“I always look at the team. When we talk about football we have to do it from a broad perspective. If there’s a right way to play I think this is it. We are working as a unit again, we fought until the end and that’s something we do properly, fight until the end for a score,” concluded Casemiro.
Real Madrid will face Huesca this Saturday on their first Liga game after El Clasico.
