Real Madrid Castilla have so far completed pre-season and their first two competitive league fixtures uninterrupted by the global pandemic, but this week several players and members of staff tested positive. The players receive regular testing, and these latest round of results now puts the upcoming fixture against Rayo Majadahona in doubt. Affected players are now self-isolating and limiting contact with others for the recommended time and will be unavailable for selection during this period.

The first team have already had multiple positive results and concerns, with Mariano and Lunin previously testing positive and since recovering. Martin Ødegaard and Thibaut Courtois also had scares but ended up avoiding the virus, yet none of the cases have led to fixture or training cancellations thus far. Castilla’s game is currently under review from both club’s and the Spanish Football Federation, and a decision is set to be considered and reached later today.
