Hola Madridistas!
The Open Thread/Daily Merengue is a place where you can discuss anything and everything related to football. Feel free to discuss the topics presented here, or start your very own discussions! The Open thread will be posted every day by one of the mods: Valyrian Steel, Felipejack or Oscnar.
A reminder about the community guidelines
So, the MM-community has once again experienced a growth both in users and comments during the last few months/weeks. This is absolutely marvelous, and it’s great that you guys return time after time to this page to read articles and comment your opinions. However, during the last few weeks we mods have had to reach out to quite a few regarding comments breaking the community guidelines. We mods understand that this great team and sport can and will create strong emotions and that we all sometimes say something in the heat of the moment that we don’t really mean. We usually give the benefit of the doubt and don’t start warning people from the get-go. And usually it is only friendly reminders, not even warnings. However, recent weeks have marked a strong increase in comments breaking the guidelines, and as such we think it is time to make a friendly reminder to everyone about the rules on this blog. They are both the Sb Nations community guidelines AND our Managing Madrids own revamped community guidelines. Please take a moment to read them when you have the time. This way we will all have a nicer experience on the blog! Again, if you have questions you can contact managingmadridmods@gmail.com
IT’S GAMEDAY…..X2!

And it’s a real exciting game, as it is against no other team than FC Barcelona! The men play Levante later this evening Spanish time, so buckle up for a day of football!
The window is closing, but will something actually happen?
With the transfer-window closing in “the big 5 leagues” on October 5th, the rumors are still flying. The newest one regarding Real Madrid is that the club would de trying to get Lyons Houssem Aouar. Although this looks more like Lyon trying to ramp the price up with Arsenal not willing to pay up what Lyon is asking. Currently, there is nothing really that make it seem these rumors are true. Regarding departures, it looks like this will be it for Real Madrid. Jovic is set on staying for the season, and it seems Mariano won’t leave either.
