For the first time in 40 years Real Madrid make no signings

The October 5th, 2020 transfer deadline came and went and as stated previously by club President Florentino Perez, Real Madrid signed no new players. We have to go all the way back to 1980 for the last time Madrid were inactive in the transfer window. The club did however bring back loaned players, Martin Odegaard, Andriy Lunin and Alvaro Odriozola, so Valdebebas is not totally devoid of new faces.

Real Madrid head into the international break as league leaders

Despite a piling injury list Los Blancos sit atop the la liga table having won 3 and drawn 1. Vinicius Junior leads the scoring so far with 2 goals for the club. One can only hope and pray that no further injuries with happen during the international break with el classico coming up soon after. Ramos, Varane, Courtois, Kroos, Modrić, Jović, Ødegaard, Lunin, Casemiro, Rodrygo and Valverde will all take part in international matches.

Breaking News: Lunin is Covid positive.

Ukraine football federation announced that Lunin is COVID-19 positive. It remains to be seen if any further Real Madrid players have also been exposed to the virus. We can expect this to be a recurring theme throughout the season. Speedy recovery to the young goal keeper.
