Brahim Diaz produced a point-salvaging assist for AC Milan over the weekend in the 92nd minute vs Chievo Verona. The 21-year-old has immediately settled into life in Italy and has been a major positive for the Rossoneri. Luis De La Fuente has called the young player up to his U21 Spain team for the international break. While away on international duty, the Real Madrid loanee spoke with Movistar+ on a program called Vamos, where he discussed his relationship with Zidane and his expectations for Real Madrid this season.
“Zidane and I have a special and mutual affection,” Brahim noted. “The relationship between he and I is very good. Now that I am in Milan we have less contact, but from time to time I receive a message from him.”
In the ultimate show of confidence to his former coach, Brahim dispelled any doubts on the Frenchman. “Everything about Zidane is questioned, but in the end he always wins. I have no doubt that my teammates from Real Madrid will achieve their objectives this season.”
Finally, the loanee had the opportunity to talk about his stint at AC Milan. “Now I am showing my football, showing what I can provide to the team, and it’s much easier. One always enjoys being able to play,” he noted. Lastly, Brahim was asked about playing with Zlatan Ibrahimović. “I have formed a good connection with Ibra, he gives me a lot of advice. He and I get along very well both on and off the pitch.”
