Luka Jović scored a late equalizer for Serbia in their EURO qualifier against Scotland on Wednesday.
Serbia trailed just after the start of the second half as Ryan Christie put Scotland ahead 1-0. It took all the way until the 90th minute for Jović to score a header off a well-taken corner to tie the match 1-1 and force extra time.
Heartbreak for Scotland and hope for Serbia!

Jović hasn’t had the most consistent time featuring for Serbia, but he was able to prove his worth in Belgrade. He had only been on the pitch for 20 minutes as he subbed on around the 70th minute of play.
The match went to penalties where Aleksandar Mitrović missed a crucial penalty for Serbia while Scotland didn’t miss a beat. Scotland now advances to the EURO 2021, their first major tournament since 1998.

Scotland will be a part of Group D next summer. They will be joined alongside England, Croatia and Czech Republic.
Though it ends in heartbreak for Serbia, Jović should be proud of his equalizer and the penalty he converted during the shootout. He hasn’t gotten many opportunities from Serbia so it was great to see him take advantage of a big one like this despite the result.
