Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard is still testing positive for Covid-19 and therefore not able to play neither for Belgium nor for his club just yet, according to Belgium coach Roberto Martinez.

“We are working hard with Real Madrid’s medical staff and he’s still not able to travel, he’s still testing positive and won’t be available,” said Martinez when asked about the star.

Hazard and Casemiro first tested positive for Covid-19 on November 7th and most fans and reporters expected them to be ready to play right after this FIFA break, which is still a possibility. Both players are feeling fine but will need to test negative for the virus twice before they’re allowed to rejoin the squad in training.

Considering that they will probably need a few training sessions to improve their fitness and conditioning after spending the last few days away from the team, their presence against Villarreal next Saturday seems extremely unlikely. If they manage to test negative before next weekend, they could feature when Real Madrid visit Inter Milan.
