Sergio Ramos has been the center of attention in the last few weeks as talks have intensified regarding his contract renewal. The 34-year-old is looking to secure a minimum of a 2-year renewal while the club has had a long-term policy in place of only offering 1-year renewals for any player over the age of 30. On January 1st, Ramos would be free to talk and negotiate with other clubs, like PSG, who are rumored to be waiting for their chance to snap up the Real Madrid captain.

Though, if the words of Jose Ramos — Sergio Ramos’ father — are to be believed, then the captain looks set to stay at his beloved Real Madrid. After being cornered in his car by journalist from El Chiringuito, Jose was asked about his son’s potential renewal.

“Sergio’s renewal? I am completely sure it will happen, without any doubt,” Jose Ramos affirmed.

At the final stage of his career, Sergio Ramos will be looking to solidify one of his last contract renewals. He can go on to cement his Real Madrid legacy, including becoming the player with the most trophies won in Real Madrid history, or he can secure one last large pay-day and a new adventure at another club. In the next few weeks, there should be clarity regarding the decisions made by both parties — Sergio Ramos and Real Madrid.
