Dani Carvajal is back to full-contact training, and Martin Odegaard has rejoined the team in full-swing after Norway’s international break came to an abrupt end over COVID-19 concerns. Those two players being part of Zidane’s training session were two big pieces of news today ahead of a big game against Villarreal on Saturday.
In other player news, Karim Benzema was out training, but on his own, and not with the team. He trained both outdoors doing physical drills, and also indoor inside the gym. Alvaro Odriozola and Fede Valverde worked out indoors as they both continued their recovery process behind the scenes.
Today’s training saw Zinedine Zidane start with warm-up and physical exercises before moving into ball-movement and pressing drills. The session concluded with scrimmages on reduced-sized pitches, and then some shooting drills. Marcelo and Lucas Vazquez looked particularly sharp with their finishing; and both Isco and Martin Odegaard looked crisp with their touches and passes.
