Real Madrid Femenino announced Thursday that eight players were called to their national teams. The Spanish Women’s National Team selected six Real Madrid Femenino players: Misa Rodriguez, Marta Corredera, Marta Cardona, Ivana Andrés, Teresa Abelleira, and Maite Oroz. This is Maite Oroz’s first call up to the senior national team.
The Swedish Women’s National Team called up the usual suspects. Both Kosovare Asllani and Sofia Jakobsson will join the team to finish out the Euro Championship Qualifiers.
Spain still has two more matches. Both are important because Spain has not secured qualification for the Euros. They will host Moldova on Nov. 27 and Poland on Dec. 1. Poland currently leads their group with a one point advantage over Spain, but has played two more matches than the Spanish side.
Sweden has already secured qualification, but will look to close things out with seven wins and one draw. Their last match will be played on Dec. 1 against Slovakia in a match where they will be expected to claim the three points even without a first-choice squad.
