Another 2 points dropped against Villareal

After the international break, Los Blancos weren’t able to win against Villareal. The match was well covered in the Immeadiate reaction, Player ratings and the podcast:

Zidane’s comments about Isco and the game against Villareal.

Zidane denied that Isco had asked him to leave, but the coach, as usual, didn’t talk about what he had discussed with the player. He also felt Madrid deserved more from the game stating, “We’ve dropped two points here. I have to congratulate my players for the effort they made. It annoys me because of the effort we made. We deserved a lot more today.”

Other results from La liga and Europe.

Barcelona were beaten by Atletico 1-0, earning the Madrid side their first victory over the Catalans in 10 years in La liga. To make matters worse for Barca, Gerard Pique seemed to have suffered a serious injury. Diego Simeone’s men sit second in the table, level on points with Real Sociedad although they have a game in hand. Elsewhere in La liga, Sevilla beat Celta Vigo 4-2.

In the Premier League, Spurs beat Manchester city 2-0 to go top of the table with Jose Mourinho getting bragging rights over Pep Guardiola this time. Chelsea were also able to secure a 2-0 win over Newcastle, while Manchester United overcame West Brom 1-0.

In Ligue 1, PSG were beaten by Monaco 3-2 even with Mbappe scoring a brace. In the Bundesliga Norwegian sensation Erling Haland scored 4 goals as Dortmund smashed Hertha Berlin 5-2. Juventus were also able to win 2-0 against Cagliari through a CR7 brace bringing them within 1 point of league leaders AC Milan, though Milan have a game in hand.
