Real Madrid center-back Eder Militao tested negative for Covid-19 and was able to rejoin the squad in training this Thursday. Militao first tested positive for the virus on November 2nd, so he’s been out for almost an entire month.

His return to the squad will add some much needed depth to the defensive line, where Nacho Fernandez and Raphael Varane are the only men available. While Militao isn’t expected to start against Alaves as he improves his fitness and conditioning during the next few days, it’s clear that either Varane or Nacho will likely need some rest soon, so Militao’s presence will be valuable as Ramos recovers from the muscle injury he picked up during the last FIFA break.

Real Madrid’s schedule isn’t a manageable one in early December, as Los Blancos will have two keys games against Shakhtar and Gladbach in the Champions League while they face Sevilla and Atletico de Madrid respectively the weekend after those European games.
