Hola Madridistas!
The Open Thread/Daily Merengue is a place where you can discuss anything and everything related to football. Feel free to discuss the topics presented here, or start your very own discussions! The Open thread will be posted every day by one of the mods: Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, YoSnail or Oscnar.
IT’S GAMEDAY!
Time for more La Liga-action, as Real Madrid face of with Alaves at the Di Stefano. Real have some injury concerns and absentees, being without Jovic, Benzema, Ramos, Carvajal, Odriozola and Valverde. While Alaves are only without midfielder Pere Pons. There will of course be a live-match thread here on the page.
The Isco-rumors continue
AS are stirring the pot, reporting that Sevilla have been in touch with Isco’s father (and agent). Seville are trying to figure out if Isco would be interested in reuniting with Lopetegui, with whom he worked at Spain and at Real Madrid. However, according to LaSexta, Isco’s current salary is making a move impossible at the moment. Do you think Sevilla would be a good destination for Isco?
Alaves coach Machin talks before the game
Machin had a lot of praise for Real Madrid and Zidane. He commented on Real Madrids win over Inter, saying it was a “great win”. He also commented on Zidane’s rotations, saying, “Zidane rotates a lot, and it is difficult to know which XI you’ll face. So we must prepare for all eventualities”. He continued to say, “Madrid are the most dominating side in the league, and we know how difficult it is to get something out of this game”
Rodrygo’s father talks about his son
There were a lot of praise for his son, and not only of his footballing skills, but as how Rodrygo is as a familymember and as a person. According to him, Rodrygo is “A special, affectionate and very cheerful person. He is always joking and playing with everyone. He is a child with a big heart, who always helps others…The family is his base, and it keeps him strong”.
Oh, and as a fun fact, apparently Rodrygo plays the ukulele. Who would have thought?
