AC Milan have been clear, on more than one occasion, of their desire to secure Brahim Diaz to a permanent transfer. The most recent declarations came from AC Milan’s director of football, Frederic Massara, in an interview with DAZN.
“Brahim is doing very well in Madrid,” Massara revealed. “We are both happy and satisfied with him. We can offer Brahim a lot in the future and we will speak with Real Madrid in the coming months.”
Brahim has played in multiple positions for the Italian giants - left wing, right wing, and more often than not as a center attacking midfielder. The last position may become a position of need as Turkish playmaker, Hakan Calhanoglu, is out of contract this summer and rumors have intensified regarding a free transfer to Manchester United. Brahim would be a young and ready-made replacement for the Turk.
Ultimately, the will of the player and the influence of Zinedine Zidane may have the final say. If Zidane, whom Brahim admitted to having a special relationship with, wants to count on the former Manchester City man, then Brahim would likely be open to returning to Real Madrid. If minutes cannot be guaranteed with Lucas Vazquez, Asensio, Rodrygo, Hazard, and Vincius JR all still on the books, then a permanent move away could be pushed through.
