Real Madrid wonder kid Martin Odegaard is still training with his teammates and appears ready to return to the squad when Los Blancos face Valencia this next Sunday. Odegaard picked up a minor calf injury during the last FIFA break and missed Real’s last few games, but he’s been able to rejoin the squad in training this Tuesday.
In fact, coach Zidane could’ve decided to include him in Real Madrid’s squad list for Tuesday’s match against Inter but ultimately decided to keep it safe and let Odegaard complete a few more training sessions, which seems reasonable considering that muscle injuries are always tricky.
Martin Odegaard’s presence in Madrid’s squad list is extremely valuable even if he’s not an undisputed starter. His creativity and versatility off the bench could be a quality asset against a decent team like Valencia who will be expected to sit back and defend tight for 90 minutes.
