Real Madrid are unhappy with Reinier Jesus’ current role with Borussia Dortmund, according to a report published today on Diario AS. Reinier is on a two-year loan deal with the German side and has only played 106 minutes in six appearances so far this season.
Dortmund pushed hard to complete the signing of Reinier on loan and that’s the main reason why Madrid are surprised by his current lack of minutes, per that same report. Los Blancos expected Reinier to make steady progress and start earning his minutes because it’s true that Dortmund have a deep squad on offense with players like Sancho, Reyna, Haaland, Brandt or Reus all currently ahead of Reinier in the rotation.
Still, Reinier is 18 years old and can’t afford to spend a season on the bench when he could be improving and developing elsewhere. Real Madrid have a lot of faith in his potential and ceiling as a player and will monitor the situation during the next few months to see if they actually need to make some kind of decision about Reinier’s current loan deal.
