Not a whole lot to report (that’s new) from today’s training session at Real Madrid City. The team continues to prepare for the game against a struggling Valencia side (surrounded by turmoil) on Sunday night.
In today’s session, head coach Zinedine Zidane had the team begin with warm-ups and injury-prevention exercises. After that, he moved the players into technical drills, consisting of pressing practice and physical work. The training concluded with scrimmages on reduced-sized pitches and some shooting drills.
Player updates
All but three players trained normally — a very good ratio! Nacho Fernandez and Dani Carvajal trained outdoors on their own on the grass; while Alvaro Odriozola trained inside of the Valdebebas facilities. All three continue their recovery process.
I’d expected Martin Odegaard to be in the squad on Sunday, and Eden Hazard getting another start. Lucas Vazquez should slot in at right-back again.
