Benzema picks up groin injury during Real Madrid’s 4-1 loss to Valencia

A Sunday night to forget for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s 4-1 loss to Valencia was quite simply a terrible night for Los Blancos. Not only did they lose the game in dramatic fashion, Karim Benzema suffered a groin strain which forced him to leave the game and could potentially miss a few games with it, depending on how severe it is.

While it’s true that the upcoming two-week FIFA break could help Benzema recover in time for Madrid’s next game against Villarreal if the tests and the medical report reveal that this is just a small strain, groin injuries are always extremely tricky for football players and Madrid’s coaching staff will certainly want to make sure that he’s 100% ready to come back before he plays any minutes.

Madrid’s next two games are extremely tough, as they will visit Villarreal and Inter Milan.

Right now, Eden Hazard, Casemiro, Carvajal, Odriozola, Nacho, Militao and Benzema are all unavailable, so it would be very important for Madrid to get a few of those men back as soon as possible.
