German “Mono” Burgos, was the number two to Diego Simeone for all of his tenure at Atletico Madrid up until the new season. This summer, Burgos decided to pursue a role as first team manager. There have been links both in Argentina and Spain, with a potential move to Real Zaragoza in Segunda as his next destination.
In an interview with Atleti focused program, Arsenal Cesped, Mono Burgos heaped praise on the Real Madrid captain, “Sergio Ramos is a coach. He creates support for his team-mates on the field this is part of his leadership role. They should give him the title of a coach, I am amazed at his role,” he explained.
In just a few weeks time, Sergio Ramos contract will have 6 months remaining on the deal. This means other clubs all across world football will have the opportunity to speak with him and present an offer without tampering or breaking any FIFA protocols. With clubs like PSG or Manchester City whispering sweet-nothings into the center-back’s ear, Madrid will need to move quick in order to finalize what will likely be his last renewal with the club.
