Real Madrid host Atletico de Madrid and they’ll do so with a boost of confidence after their convincing win against Borussia Monchengladbach last Wednesday. Not only did Los Blancos play good football, they also advanced to the Round of 16 as winners of their group.
Now, they’ll look to make yet another statement in the first Madrid Derby of the season, a game which could be decisive given Atleti’s current lead in the table.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Mendy, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Benzema.
Atletico de Madrid predicted XI: Oblak, Savic, Felipe, Hermoso, Trippier, Koke, Saul, Llorente, Carrasco, Joao Felix, Luis Suarez.
Carvajal will likely return to Real Madrid’s starting XI, even if Vazquez has performed well as a right-back recently. Valverde is also available and could play minutes, but his presence in the lineup seems unlikely given that he just rejoined the squad last Thursday.
