Real Madrid have enjoyed a special eight days, defeating Sevilla, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Atlético Madrid without conceding a single goal. Zinedine Zidane reflected on the entire week as he spoke in his post-match press conference after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Atleti.

The coach told the media: “It has been a good week with three good games. Above all, I’m happy for the players. I think we’ve improved many things. We started this against Sevilla, we went through vs Borussia and then today I think we competed very well from minute one to minute 90. We’ve not won anything, it’s only three points, but we have to be happy with this job well done. We play again on Tuesday and we have to recover well.”

Zidane was asked about rotations, given that he has hardly changed his line-ups over these three matches. He was asked if he still plans to rotate a lot during the rest of the season. On that, he said: “I’m going to believe in all of my players. This was a specific moment where we didn’t make many rotations for these matches. But, all the players are there training. Sadly there are players who’ll play less, but I think you win with all the players. I’m convinced about this and the players know this too.”

Finally, he was asked about the midfield trio of Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić and if they’re still as good as they were a few years ago. “Of course,” Zidane said. “They’re showing a very high level.”
