Real Madrid Femenino have announced their squad list for Saturday’s match against Atlético Madrid:
GK: Misa, Yohana
DEF: Kenti Robles, Babett Peter, Samara Ortiz Cruz, Ivana Andrés, Marta Corredera, Claudia Florentino
MID: Thaisa, Aurélie Kaci, Maite Oroz, Teresa Abelleira, Malena Ortiz Cruz
FWD: Olga Carmona, Kosovare Asllani, Sofia Jakobsson, Marta Cardona, Lorena Navarro, Chioma Ubogagu, Ariana Arias
Marta Cardona has rejoined the squad after a slight knock that saw her come off early vs. Levante and miss Madrid’s 8-1 thrashing of Espanyol. This is huge news ahead of the derbi, as Cardona has easily been the team’s best and most consistent player this season.

Babett Peter has also returned from an injury that has seen Claudia Florentino take over as the starting left back the last few matches. Despite a rather inconsequential mistake vs. Espanyol, she has looked assured on the ball and in her defensive duties and it’ll be interesting to see if Aznar sticks with the in-form player or returns to his original pairing of Ivana-Peter.
Only two players are missing this time (besides the long-term absence of Daiane): goalkeeper Sara Ezquerro and striker Jessica Martínez.
