Real Madrid are considering the sacking of coach Zinedine Zidane if Los Blancos don’t perform well and get good results on their next three games against Sevilla, Borussia Monchedgladbach and Atletico de Madrid, according to reports from MARCA, La Sexta, El Mundo and AS.

While most of those reports point out that the board will wait and see if the team manages to advance to the Round of 16 of the Champions League, La Sexta’s Jose Luis Sanchez informed today on Jugones that Florentino Perez could sack Zidane if Los Blancos lose against Sevilla next Saturday.

If Zidane were to be sacked, former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino would be the favorite for the job, according to MARCA. Castilla coach and club legend Raul would not be ahead of Pochettino in this list, per that same report.

Zidane’s legacy as Real Madrid’s coach cannot be disputed, he’s one of the best managers to ever coach the club. However, Madrid’s current form must improve and the team’s current season can only be considered a failure so far, that cannot be disputed either.

Does this current version of Real Madrid have what it takes to come out of those three games successfully? If the answer to that question is “no”, we could be living Zinedine Zidane’s last days as Madrid’s coach.
