Real Madrid will be without midfielder Luka Modric when they take on Granada this Wednesday. The Croatian player picked up a muscle injury on his left leg during the away match against Eibar and couldn’t finish the game. He will get tests to see the extent of his injury this Tuesday.
Therefore, Modric didn’t train with the squad this Monday. Madrid’s coaching staff will be cautious and keep him out of the team so that he can be 100% ready when Madrid visit Elche on December 30th if the tests reveal that his injury isn’t very serious.
Luckily enough for Madrid, both Fede Valverde and Martin Odegaard are available, so Zidane will have two different options to replace Modric. It’d be interesting to see how Odegaard performs as a creative midfielder without the Croatian player, but Valverde is likely ahead of him in the rotation for that spot.
Madrid will publish their squad list for Wednesday’s match after Tuesday’s training session.
