Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro scored the opening goal on the team’s 2-0 home win against Granada. Casemiro talked to the media right after the game and discussed the current form, which has allowed Madrid to win their last six matches.
“We know they play quality football and a very good coach who’s doing a great job. These are three very important points, we want to keep this winning streak going but we also have to think about getting some rest now. We know we have to, but we have to stay strong because we’d like to keep this form going,” said Casemiro.
The midfielder discussed his goal, which came off a good cross by Marco Asensio.
“It was an important goal but I’m sure our coach will be the happiest man about it. He wants balance from me but also wants me to reach the box because of my finishing, he insists about that a lot. I know my job and everyone knows it, which is to provide balance, but I felt right at that moment and went after the ball, Asensio delivered a very good cross,” explained Casemiro.
Real Madrid will now have a few days off, but Los Blancos face Elche in just a week, meaning that they won’t have much time to rest.
“We can’t forget about football during the break and we have to take care of everything. We have an important game in just a week and every single team is going through ups and lows this season. There are many games and pre-season was short, it happens to every team but we have to keep it going,” concluded the midfielder.
