Former Real Madrid player Antonio Gento passes away

He played one season for the club and was the brother of club legend and honorary president Paco Gento.

Real Madrid announced this morning that their former player Antonio Gento, brother of club legend and honorary president Paco Gento, has passed away. Antonio Gento played one season —1961-1962— for the club.

Here’s Real Madrid’s statement:
Real Madrid C. F., its president and Board of Directors are deeply saddened by the passing of Antonio Gento, the brother of our honorary president Francisco Gento, who played for the club during the 1961-62 season.

Real Madrid wishes to extend its condolences to all his family, especially our dear Francisco Gento, his friends and loved ones, and all the clubs he represented.

In his time as a Real Madrid player, he lifted 1 LaLiga title and 1 Copa de España. Antonio Gento has passed away at 80 years of age. Real Madrid extends its condolences to all madridismo.

Gento played most of his career for Racing de Santander. He also played for Levante and Real Oviedo.
