Modric’s contract to be renewed.
AS reported that Modric has agreed to renew his contract for 1 more season. Marca also reported the story, adding that the player’s intention has always been to stay and even to take a pay cut despite proposals from Qatar and MLS. An agreement between the player and Real Madrid until 30 June 2022 has been reached in principle as reported by Matt Wiltse.
So why is Zidane not rotating?
Los Blancos won their last 6 games in a row. What is different is that Zidane has not been conducting his usual rotations or starting line-up modifications, including tactical variations. Marca reported that a group of important players - Ramos, Kroos, Modric, Benzema and Casemiro - met with Zidane in their most difficult moment. They asked to use one formation and one pool of players for the line-ups for the next few matches and it payed off.. The players wanted to grow as a team and to, later, return to the rotations. The meeting took place before the game against Sevilla.
Transfer rumors.
Sky Sport News reported that a couple of clubs, like Milan, Frankfurt and now even Wolverhampton, are interested in signing Jovic on loan next month.
The Athletic reported that Real Madrid is ready to provided the contract wages Alaba had requested from Bayern. As reported by Lucas Navarrete, Real Madrid are now in pole position to sign the defender.
Further, Villarreal and Getafe are talking about a possible move for Kubo.
AS also reported that Mourinho is very disappointed with Bale’s performance, as there is no player impact on the team’s game.
Return to training.
Today the players returns to training, beginning preparations for the next game against Elche. The team picked up its sixth straight victory against Granada and will be looking to extend its run at the Martínez Valero stadium.
