Real Madrid are exploring a loan deal for striker Luka Jovic this winter transfer window, according to a report published on AS. Several clubs like Wolverhampton, Eintracht Frankfurt and AC Milan would be interested in such a deal, per that same report.

While Madrid have not made Jovic’s departure a priority and Zidane would accept to keep him in the squad, all parts involved realize that the striker needs minutes, something he will only get away from the Spanish capital given Benzema’s current role and performances in the squad.

Jovic has only made five appearances for the club so far this season, logging around 200 minutes in the process. The striker started a few games early in the year but has not been a relevant player since, so it would make no sense for him to stay in Madrid if he can gain experience and confidence in a quality club.

All things considered, it looks like Jovic isn’t ready to contribute for Madrid consistently, so Los Blancos should consider a loan if it means more minutes for the young attacker. If it actually happens, Mariano would be Benzema’s backup.
