Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon is determined to leave the club during the summer transfer window, putting a end to his career with Los Blancos. Isco, who has only started three games so far this season, would be keen on reuniting with former Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui in Sevilla, according to a report from AS.
Isco’s contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2022, meaning that Sevilla would have to reach an agreement with Los Blancos if they want to sign the Spanish midfielder. Considering that he would only have a year left on his deal, Madrid would let him go for around €20 million, per that same report.
Isco will turn 29 years old next April and while he is still young enough to be considered in his prime, it’s true that his role in Real Madrid has decreased so much that he might need another team to find minutes and prove his value so that he can also play for the Spanish national team, which is also one of his goals.
The midfielder wanted to leave the club during this winter transfer window but coach Zinedine Zidane decided not to let him leave so that the team’s depth wasn’t affected. Isco will have to wait until the summer and that will likely cost him his presence in the 2021 UEFA Euro with Spain.
