More rumors from the Spanish press about Zidane’s future.
Both Marca and AS reported that the game against Borussia will decide Zidane’s future. AS repeated that Pochettino and Raul are the candidates to replace the coach. Marca mentioned that the club recognized Zidane’s greatness, but he is assessed by the team’s current form and he is aware of his situation. Both newspapers’ front cover was about Zidane and his future. Cardena SER confirmed Zidane doesn’t consider resigning, but he is aware he made a mistake and that some players have not given what is expected of them.
According to Arancha Mobile, some players believe a change of coach would be good to break the bad results. However, Marca stated the opposite: they’re against Zidane’s sacking and believe they can change the situation soon.
Financial issues due to the pandemic.
Onda Cero reported that the club will meet with the captains in order to make a decision for another pay cut as result of financial loss in the pandemic. However, the club tweeted that they closed the 19/20 financial year with a positive result of €313,000. This is impressive considering the multitude of clubs reporting massive negative numbers. You can read more about the financials on the official website of the club. On Sunday, 20 December, the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Meeting of Representative Members will take place virtually.
