Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane called Red Bull Salzburg talented attacker Dominik Szoboszlai and asked him to join Madrid in the upcoming winter transfer window, according to a report published on German newspaper Bild.
Other clubs like Arsenal or Milan are reportedly interested in the young Hungarian attacker, although it seems that Red Bull Leipzig will be the ones trying to complete his signing as soon as the transfer window opens.
Apparently, Szoboszlai has a €25 million release clause on his contract with Salzburg, which makes him an affordable target for Madrid if they’re truly interested. Los Blancos usually refuse to add players during the winter window but this time they believe that Szoboszlai will be gone if they don’t complete the transfer for him this winter, according to the report from Bild.
While Szoboszlai is an interesting player and a good opportunity given his clause, it’s not clear if Real Madrid will be willing to spend money on signings given their current financial situation. Los Blancos seem to be targeting big signings for next summer and spending €25 million on Szoboszlai will reduce their budget.
