Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard missed Monday’s training session with what the Spanish media are reporting to be a left leg injury. Club sources confirmed to Managing Madrid that he will get tests on that left leg on Tuesday to reveal the extent of the injury.
All things considered, it looks like Odegaard will surely miss Wednesday’s decisive Champions League match against Borussia Monchengladbach and quite possibly the home game against Atletico de Madrid as well, although the coaching and medical staff are hoping that his injury isn’t serious enough to keep him out for an extended period of time.
Odegaard’s absence would decrease the depth of an already thin midfield for Real Madrid, as Fede Valverde is also injured at the moment. The next two games will be crucial for Los Blancos and coach Zinedine Zidane will likely need to find a replacement for Odegaard, even if the Norwergian playmaker didn’t feature in the starting lineup last Saturday.
