Real Madrid’s only winter signing of the 2019-2020 campaign will finally touch down in Spain this week. Reinier Jesus, the 18-year-old Brazilian play-maker, has officially qualified for the Olympics this summer after forming part of the U23 Brazil national team. During the qualification period, Brazil played eight matches. The Brazil team look like heavy favorites heading into the Olympics after going undefeated during qualification, drawing two and winning six. Reinier Jesus was not an automatic starter, but did chip in with a goal in a 5-3 victory over Bolivia. He also started in Brazil’s last match, a 3-0 win over eternal rivals, Argentina.

A report from Spanish publication, MARCA, revealed that the teenager is now on his way to Madrid and should be available to train and play for with Raul’s Castilla or the first team squad with Zidane as early as this coming Wednesday, the 12th.

If Reinier were to feature for Castilla this weekend, it would be an away fixture to Rayo Majadohanda. More than likely his debut will be postponed to the following weekend where he can feature in the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium against San Sebastian. Needless to say, Castilla viewership is expected to be through the roof for the Brazilian’s eventual debut. The next five months will be about adapting to his new city, the stature of his new club, and familiarizing himself with his new teammates.
