Mohammed Salisu’s debut season in La Liga with Valladolid hasn’t gone unnoticed and Real Madrid are paying close attention to his performances and monitoring his status, according to AS. Salisu has a €12 million release clause on his contract with Valladolid and he would be an intriguing option to rejuvenate Real’s defensive line, considering that Ramos will turn 34 years old this March.

Other big clubs like Atletico de Madrid and Manchester United are interested in the young defender, but Real Madrid could definitely have the edge in his potential signing given that club legend Ronaldo Nazario is Valladolid’s president.

Salisu would fit Real Madrid’s current transfer policy. He’s 20 years old and appears to have good potential, even if it’s only to be Varane and Militao’s backup. He’s a physically gifted defender with a very strong aerial game. Salisu is an undisputed starter in La Liga and Valladolid have completed solid defensive performances all season long.

Real Madrid always wanted Jesus Vallejo to be a relevant player in the future but the Spanish defender hasn’t quite reached his potential just yet, so Salisu would be a cheap signing which could ultimately pay off.
