Granada considering Mariano to replace Neyder Lozano this season

They’ve been given permission to sign a player after Lozano’s season-ending injury.

Real Madrid attacker Mariano Diaz ended up staying in the club past the winter transfer window and it looked as if he was going to complete the season with Madrid. However, Granada are considering the striker to replace Neyder Lozano after being given permission to sign a player mid-season because of Lozano’s season-ending injury, according to a report from Estadio Deportivo.

It will not be easy for Granada to match Mariano’s current salary in Real Madrid and that’s what will probably stop the deal, because Mariano has not been a relevant player this year and could get the minutes he wants in Granada.

Mariano has only appeared in the Spanish Supercup this season and he was hoping to compete for the backup striker job with Luka Jovic, who appears to have the edge in Zidane’s rotation right now. All things considered, it would make sense for Mariano to accept that he is just not going to play and join Granada for the remainder of the season. Whether that will actually happen or not remains to be seen.
