Real Madrid scout Juni Calafat has been getting interest from big clubs in the Premier League like Liverpool, Chelsea or Everton, according to a report from The Telegraph. Calafat has been responsible for Madrid’s transfer policy lately and was the main reason why Los Blancos signed young talents like Vinicius, Rodrygo, Militao, Fede Valverde, Odegaard or Reinier Jesus.
Now, it seems that other clubs in Europe have been paying attention to Calafat’s success ratio with that kind of young talent and seem to be interested in signing him away from the Bernabeu, where he is the Chief Scout.
Most of Calafat’s discoveries have yet to be true stars in the world of football, but it’s safe to say that his gambles paid off and it looks like Real Madrid were right when they decided to listen to their Chief Scout.
In the end, Real Madrid might have to improve Calafat’s current deal if they want to keep him around. Details of his contract are not public but the talent he discovered in recent years probably make him worth of a salary raise if big clubs in the Premier League are willing to improve his current deal.
